In August 2007 a magnificent Oceanfront estate on the island of Maui was offered for view by Architectural Digest on pages 91 - 99. Years spent in new construction revealed a home replete with all of the feeling of Old Hawaiiana.
Extraordinary comfortable furniture, fabrics and accessories play host to island breezes and surreal tropical vistas.
August 2002
Cher’s Italian Renaissance style villa in Malibu was featured on the August 2002 cover. This was Cher’s favorite home, she was very involved in every detail from concept to final furnishings. Venetian style villa’s décor is eclectic with Gothic Revival religious pieces, Victorian tufted furniture, Egyptian sculptures, and 19th century English cabinets in a high style that only Ron Wilson could accomplish. January 2000
For the January 2000 edition, Architectural Digest once again published its revered list of the Top 100 Architects and Interior Designers respectfully entitled “Interior Design Legends.” An interview of Ron Wilson revealing his reverence for the classicist Billy Baldwin can be seen on page 132.

The July 1998 issue of Architectural Digest offers a close-up of a secluded Pacific Ocean bluff home in Malibu. Here Ron Wilson created a spacious home which yields both warmth and sophistication. Just before their untimely deaths, the property was acquired by Dodi Fayed – purported to be a U. S. getaway for Princess Diana and him. (Pages 106 – 115)

Hope Ranch of Santa Barbara, California was the site of an Italian villa featured in the May 1993 Architectural Digest. Pale Mediterranean colors and an eclectic interplay of textures and surfaces became the theme. A comfortable sophistication was highly valued by these clients. (Pages 202 -209)

Architectural Digest featured Cher’s Santa Fe style adobe villa located in Aspen, Colorado in the October 1991 issue. Cher bought this house on the spur of a moment and asked Ron to decorate it in 6 weeks in time for Christmas. He made use of over-scale furniture, raw cedar wood elements, stone, and earth tone colors to create the perfect ski retreat for Cher. (Pages 122 - 129)

When Architectural Digest assembled its All-Star cast of the AD 100 Designers in 1990, they profiled Ron Wilson on pages 408-410 of the August issue. At the time he had just completed a New York triplex for Cher and a penthouse apartment for a Los Angeles businessman which are shown.

In the December 1978 Architectural Digest, the editors once again chose to feature one of Ron Wilson’s personal residences. This time a 1920’s Spanish Colonial Revival in the hills above Beverly Hills was the choice of background for the designer’s unique interpretation. Classically grand in scale, the home exudes romantic warmth. (Pages 66 – 73)

As early as the 1970’s, Ron Wilson began to have his work featured in Architectural Digest. The Italianate Bel Air estate belonging to Sonny and Cher was shown in the May/June 1974 and served as the inspiration for his own residence that once belonged to Cole Porter. He made use of a warm palette with abundant wood and numerous hand-finishes in the stately Hollywood Hills home with ocean and city views (Pages 64 – 69) Flip Back <
